Have you heard of Tipping Points?
They’re commonly associated with negative outcomes e.g. biodiversity collapse. But there are also positive tipping points: when a point is reached in system change that means a new positive outcome is easier to achieve than going back to the old, harmful ways.
If we’re to solve lots of our planetary problems, then positive tipping points are important, especially so with things like energy production, food systems and local communities. And the exciting thing is that we can all impact and help speed up the implementation of positive tipping points.
Now I guess you're thinking... Sounds great, but how on earth do you go about that? Ah - if only there was a toolkit to help you, huh?
Well...
Back in October, I had the pleasure of attending the global launch of University of Exeter ‘Positive Tipping Point Toolkit’ - developed by Peter Lefort and members of the Green Futures Network (see https://gfn.exeter.ac.uk) alongside partner organisations and experts from the Global Systems Institute University of Exeter.
The toolkit is free to access and builds on a growing body of evidence that small, targeted interventions can catalyse self-reinforcing, large-scale systemic change.
You can access the free Positive Tipping Points Toolkit here:
