BASECAMP
Forget everything you think you know about wild camping.
The Bioasis experience is not about endurance, survival or bushtucker trials. Any fool can be uncomfortable.
We’ve carefully curated an environment in which we stretch individuals just enough to nurture self development, whilst providing the necessary comfort to ensure participants love their experience with us and want to return.

At the heart of every Bioasis experience are our purpose-built, low-impact, solar-powered basecamps.
Let’s address the obvious question upfront
Yes, our basecamps are remote and in a stunning wild place. No, this is not about “roughing it.”
Forget everything you think you know about wild camping. Hidden away in a stunning 5000 acre estate and designed to ignite awe and wonder, our basecamps provide everything you need for a comfortable off-grid experience. We've blended just right amount of adventure, with great food, a stunning setting, industry leading safety and everything you'd expect with regard to hygiene and comfort.
The Journey to Basecamp
All our guests walk into basecamp.
We purposefully design it that way.
The walk in, through wildflower meadows and ancient woodland, amounts to stepping over a threshold. You leave the stresses of the outside world behind and begin to immerse you in a different environment.

Overnight bags are transported to basecamp for you leaving you to enjoy the walk with just a small day pack with your personal essentials.

Depending on the basecamp you're visiting, the walk in is usually between 45 minutes and an hour.

Sleep well
Fresh air and a comfy camp-bed
Spacious, weather-secure military grade tents provide proper off-the-ground beds and generous personal space.
For our adult groups we typically have 2–6 people per tent depending on overall group size. For our school groups, it's 8 - 10 students per tent.

Days field with fresh air and activities plus blackout material make for genuinely restorative sleep. The dawn chorus is your alarm clock.
I loved our experience at the Bioasis. The camps are really well set up, the agenda is full of unique nature-based experiences and the staff are amazing.

Hygiene without compromise
Immersive, off-grid and surrounded by nature does not mean unsanitary.

All basecamps are equipped with spotlessly maintained toilets, hot outdoor showers with private cubicles (open to the tree canopy/stars), piped drinking water and a full field kitchen providing wholesome freshly prepared meals

Solar Power & Fire Pits
Each basecamp is powered by its own solar panel and battery system providing power to the kitchen and communal areas.
Pathways are illuminated at night by stand-alone solar lights.

No Bioasis experience would be complete without evenings around the fire pit.
When I walked up that hill into basecamp, I thought I'd walked into a movie set.

Deliberate Disconnection
Not Isolation
We encourage all who enter The Bioasis to leave their mobile phones behind. We offer the rare luxury of the opportunity for a digital detox.

That said, there is always access to communications through Mission Control should it be required – whether that’s a call to home or the office.
You are not unreachable, simply free from constant distraction.
Good Food, Shared Connection
All meals are freshly prepared on basecamp by our catering team. We aim for local supply chains and quality, seasonal ingredients. Communal dining in the dome tent is often followed by desserts eaten around the firepit.
Meal times are an opportunity for authentic connection beyond whatever hierarchy exists back home.

We have a level 5 food hygiene certificate and can cater to all dietaries and allergies.

Bringing the wild to life
Each basecamp is equipped with a range of biodiversity monitoring equipment, including camera traps, reptile mats, live catch/release small mammal traps and bat detectors.
Our staff will help you discover the wildlife that surrounds basecamp but which often remains hidden to the naked eye.
