on a mission
Choose the mission that's right for you and your team
Regardless of age, background or learning goals, every programme at The Bioasis is low carbon, expertly led and brings together a unique combination of activities with long lasting benefits for students, schools and the Planet.
Whatever mission you choose to accept, we help students engage deeply with nature, gain new perspectives and acquire the critical skills they need to be agents of positive change.
THE STORY SO FAR...
The year is 2074. The climate change apocalypse of the 2030s and 40s means the world we call home is dying. But there is hope...
For years, rumours of a remote, natural paradise, somehow spared from the disaster, have been circulating. An expedition team, sent to investigate this safe haven has not been heard of since.
Until, that is, a fragmented radio message is received, along with a desperate plea to recruit a new generation to reconnect with nature and start the process of rewilding our dying planet. Education is the key, but the mission will not be easy.
There will be danger, adventure, wild animals, challenges to overcome and industrialist saboteurs to avoid. But young people have always been innovative. They alone hold the key to rebooting our planet and providing hope for the human race..

basecamps
Three main basecamps, each fully equipped with sustainable energy sources, comfortable multi-occupancy tents, a field kitchen, mess tent, composting toilets, bucket showers and a fire pit area.
The location of basecamp may change depending on the seasons and the current threat from local industrialists.
Potential locations include:
Holbe Meadow Camp (pictured left) lies to the west of the estuary, tucked away between a beautiful wildflower meadow and ancient woodland. The bird life, bees and bats here are magical, as are the stars at night.
Yarnin Fort Camp is situated at almost the highest point in The Bioasis, in a wildflower meadow, and has commanding views across the valley and down to the estuary. Witnessing dawn here is truly special.
Orche Wood Fly Camp is our newest basecamp hidden at the very heart of The Bioasis and surrounded by ancient forest. It’s secluded, atmospheric and a real gem of a location.
"I wanted to personally get in touch to pass on my thanks again to yourself and all of the Bioasis crew. The program you have created is incredibly special; it is unique, authentic and incredibly memorable."
Sophie Roberts, Pyrland School
