sample programme

Day 1: Adventure Challenge & Nature Immersion

We begin our time together by orienting ourselves to the Bioasis environment through grounding exercises, mindfulness, and setting personal intentions. Reflective practices and team-building exercises lay the foundation for trust, openness, and collaboration within the group.

Day 2: Reflective Practice and Canoe Journey on the Erme Estuary

Day 2 begins with an introduction to the UN SDGs and a grounding walk to Mothecombe Beach, preparing for a day of reflection through nature.

A canoe journey along the Erme Estuary, complimented with periods of silence and guided through talks about the surrounding landscape, deepens our awareness of our environment. Followed by woodland games and meditation to foster ecological understanding. The day ends with storytelling around the fire, weaving individual reflections into shared experiences.

Day 3 - Corporate Social Responsibility and Purpose-Driven Impact

We start the day with a grounding breakfast and an introduction to the UN SDGs and Learning Model, setting the stage for mindful engagement. Movement exercises on Holbe field awaken our senses before a workshop on CSR and systems thinking deepens our understanding of sustainable leadership.

After lunch, we'll join Gary and the team from 'Til the Coast is Clear' for a hands-on estuary clean-up, learning about plastic’s impact on wildlife and culminating with a group discussion on applying CSR principles in your own workplace. The day concludes with preparation for team presentations on environmental stewardship and sustainability action plans.

Day 4 - Invasive Species, Woodland Ecology and Project Planning

The day begins with breakfast and an introduction to the UN SDGs, followed by forest bathing and a guided walk through a protected woodland area. Participants engage in hands-on rhododendron removal, learning about restoration efforts and environmental stewardship. After a talk with the Estate Manager on conservation challenges, the day closes with a local dinner banquet and group work on CSR presentations.

Day 5 - Reflection, Goal Setting, and Accountability

The final day begins with breakfast and a review of the UN SDGs, followed by participants’ presentations, showcasing their learnings in CSR and environmental stewardship. After departing camp, they enjoy a reflective picnic, writing personal commitments in a letter to self. The journey concludes with a walk back to the Sawmills and departure from the Bioasis.

“Next generation leaders are those who would rather challenge what needs to change and pay the price than remain silent and die on the inside. Where there's no progress, there's no growth. If there's no growth, there's no life. Environments void of change are eventually void of life..."

your accomodation

The Bioasis has three main basecamps, each fully equipped with sustainable energy sources, comfortable multi-occupancy tents, a field kitchen, 'mess' tent, composting toilets, hot private showers and a communal fire pit area.

Our three main camps are:

Holbe Meadow Camp (pictured left) lies to the west of the estuary, tucked away between a beautiful wildflower meadow and ancient woodland. The bird life, bees and bats here are magical, as are the stars at night.

Yarnin Fort Camp is situated at almost the highest point in The Bioasis, in a wildflower meadow, and has commanding views across the valley and down to the estuary. Witnessing dawn here is truly special.

Orche Camp is hidden at the very heart of The Bioasis and surrounded by ancient forest. It’s secluded, atmospheric and a real gem of a location.
