On Sunday morning, members of the advanced expedition team made a dawn trek into the Yarnin Fort area to assess its feasibility as a location for a semi-permanent basecamp.
Initial reports are that it has huge potential. Further exploration is required to identify water and food sources.
The Yarnin Fort area is one of the highest so far discovered in The Bioasis and the views to the salt marshes, estuary and surrounding wilderness areas are incredible. Teams hoping to visit here next summer as part of the first wave of school trip missions will not be disappointed.
The advanced expedition team were treated to a spectacular sunrise, before heading back to their temporary basecamp in Orche Woods.
